'Especially at sunset, the city seems to glow in gold.'
My husband and I first visited Puglia in 2018 and instantly fell in love with the region - for its raw beauty, its slow-paced rhythm, and above all, for Lecce. Often called “the Florence of the South,” Lecce captivated me with its ornate baroque architecture and the warm, golden hues of its local pietra leccese stone. Especially at sunset, the city seems to glow in gold.
Since that first visit, Lecce and the region Salento, in Puglia - has become a constant in our lives. We returned again and again, drawn by its charm.
Last year, we even got married in Lecce, at the stunningly beautiful Cala dell’Acquaviva, surrounded by close friends and family.
'We fell in love with Lecce, and the region Salento in Puglia.'
After many years returning to Puglia we decided to finally purchase an apartment in the heart of Lecce’s historic city center, which we recently renovated into our own luxurious pied-à-terre.
Lecce is a place where la bella vita is truly lived - all year round.
Lecce is a vibrant and inspiring city: brimming with lively bars, restaurants, and boutiques and ideally located between two seas - just a couple of minutes drive from the Adriatic as well as the Ionian coasts.
Even in winter, Lecce remains alive and thriving, thanks to its university and its role as a cultural and economic hub for the surrounding villages.
It’s the perfect place for us to be: after a day spent on one of the region’s countless beaches, we step out of our apartment into the buzzing energy of the city.
‘Il dolce far niente’ - the sweetness of doing nothing.
Along the way, we’ve met so many wonderful
people, made lasting friendships, and discovered the art of ‘il dolce far niente’ - the sweetness of doing nothing. It’s not just about a second home, a visit, or a trip; it’s about embracing a different rhythm of life. A deeper connection. Not only with a place, but with people. A lifestyle we didn’t even realize we had been missing.
This deep connection to Lecce — and to the region Salento in Puglia — is the heart of this business. It’s a celebration of a region, of craftsmanship, and of the golden beauty that inspired it all.
